Talepool, the Hunter of Folk Stories
Once upon a time, there was a hunter named Talepool. He was very enthusiastic about helping others, and everyone respected him.
One day, he saved a little white snake. The little white snake said that she was the daughter of the Dragon King. The Dragon King had many jewels to give to Talepool. If he didn’t like them, he could ask for the jewels in the dragon king’s mouth. As long as it contains that gem, you can understand the animal’s language.
Talepool and the little white snake arrived at the Dragon Palace, and the old dragon king asked him to choose his own treasure. Talepool said that he wanted the gem, and the old dragon king thought about it and gave it to him. When leaving the Dragon Palace, the little white snake repeatedly told Talepool not to tell others what he had heard, or he would turn to stone. Talepool wrote about the little white snake and left.
One day, when Talepool was hunting, he suddenly heard birds say that today the mountains would collapse and the earth would be flooded. Talepool hurriedly asked the villagers to move after hearing the news. But they feel very strange. Nobody listens to Talepool. Talepool was so anxious that he shed tears that he even took an oath. But the villagers still don’t believe him. Finally, Talepool thought about it and told the truth about how he got the gem, how he listened to a flock of birds talking about taking refuge, and why he couldn’t tell others what he heard. But just after Talepool finished, he turned into a stone.
When the villagers saw that Talepool had turned to stone, they were very sorry and very sad. With tears in their eyes, they read Talepool’s name and walked to distant places.
There was only a loud noise in the middle of the night, the mountain was about to collapse, and the village where they lived was flooded by the flood. Talepool gave himself up to save everyone, so people remember Talepool from generation to generation.
